MASINDI MAN FOUND DEAD AFTER SELLING HIS BICYCLE

MASINDI: Police in Masindi district are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was discovered this morning wrapped in a polythene bag in Kijura Central Cell, Central Division Masindi Municipality.
According to the area chairperson, Munaku James, the deceased, only identified as Julius, sold his bicycle yesterday and was discovered dead this morning.
‘’Part of his body was found wrapped in a polythene bag with bruises on the body parts like the head; we suspected the assailants killed him and took off with the money,’’ he said.
Munaku narrated that though the deceased wasn’t a resident of his area, he had been a common man in the area. ‘’Though he has not been a resident of this area, he has been a common man in my area,’’ he said.
The area chairperson added that he alerted the police, who rushed to the scene and conveyed the body to Masindi General Hospital for a postmortem.
The Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, Julius Allan Hakiza, confirmed the incident and said they are yet to get the particulars of the deceased.
‘’After getting the information, we rushed to the scene, but we are yet to get the particulars of the deceased,’’ he said.
The regional police mouthpiece condemned the act and asked the public to always work hard rather than kill their colleagues for money. He also asked the public to report any suspected person behind his death to the police station.
