MASINDI RECEIVES PPES WORTH SHS5.6MILLION

MASINDI: Masindi district has Monday afternoon received Personal Protective Equipments {PPEs} worth Shs5.6millions.

The equipment included Liquid soap, Sanitizers, Jik, Medical scrubs, Facemasks and others. They were donated by Fida Development Organization through Pastor Charles Bagonza of Pentecostal Churches of Uganda.

The donation was received by Tabaro Richard the deputy resident district commissioner Masindi, Patrick Baguma the acting district health officer, Dr. Richard Drabo the Inspector of Health Masindi, and others.

Handing over the items, Pastor Charles Bagonza noted that the items were supposed to be handed over last year, due to festive season and other programs, they were able to hand them over on Monday afternoon.

”Through our friends of Fida Development Organization, we were able to purchase items worth shs.5.6million, and they will boast the fight against corona virus,” he asserted.

Hannu Happonen the Communications Specialist at Fida Development commended the government of Uganda in fight against the deadly corona virus pandemic.

”The government has done a lot to ensure the battle of corona virus is defeated through free vaccination,” he contended.

Richard Tabaro the Deputy Resident District Commissioner Masindi commended Fida Development for supporting the district adding that the donation has come at the right time when the economy has been reopened.

”This donation will boast the fight against corona virus since the economy was reopened and we are going to do better than before,” he noted.

Tabaro also asserted that the items donated will be used in different health centers and security institutions including police, and prisons.

On the same note, he asked people to observe the standard operating procedures noting that corona virus cases in Masindi have dropped from 11% to 5.4%. and 6.0% at the national level.
