MASINDI WILL GET NEW HOSPITAL – BARYOMUNSI ASSURES RESIDENTS

MASINDI: Dr. Chris Baryomunsi the Minister for ICT and National Guidance has assured the people of Masindi district that new structures will be put in place at Masindi district general hospital.
The minister who noted the poor state of structures at Masindi district general hospital said that they have been in talks with the ministry of finance, ministry of health, and they are totaling the amount of money which can be spent on putting in place new structures.
Dr. Baryomunsi who was responding to the Masindi district leaders comprising of the district chairperson, councilors and opinion leaders early this week at Masindi Kolping Hotel said that the ministry of health is aware of the current situation of structures at Masindi district general hospital, and has assured them that they will be putting in place new structures.
“We are not going to rehabilitate the current structures but put in place new structures, the ministry of finance, and health ministry are getting total cost for the new structures at Masindi district general hospital,” he noted.
Earlier this week, National Resistance Movement – NRM top offcials including Dr. Chris Baryomunsi the NRM vice chairperson for western Uganda, Dr. Tanga Odoi the NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson, Kabakumba Laboni Matsiko the NRM chairperson Masindi district, met different leaders in Masindi district including the district chairperson, councilors, and opinion leaders to discuss issues affecting the people of Masindi district. Some of the isues discussed included, Masindi hospital, poor cooperation between Masindi sugarcane outgrowers and Kinyara Factory, infrastructural development, and others.
Masindi district general hospital serves the communities of Masindi, Kiryandongo, part of Hoima and Nakasongola districts, however it’s the main referal hospital for the people of Masindi district.
