Masindi: There was a drama in Gorora-Bigando Cell in Kigulya Division Masindi Municipality after angry residents chased a woman from her late child’s burial.
It is alleged that the woman, identified as Moreen Kunihira, 52, dumped her one-month-old triplets with her husband, Mr. Farouk Kaija, 53, and went to enjoy life with other men.
However, three months later, Moreen returned to her estranged husband’s home after she heard news that one of the triplets had died, something that frustrated the residents.
They turned rowdy and threw her out of the house, claiming that she was a curse to the family and wondering what type of woman she was.
‘’We couldn’t allow her to bury the child she dumped; we are wondering what type of woman she is. She is a curse to our family,’’ a family member said.
However, Moreen was only returned at the burial by the area leaders during the time of descending the corpse into the grave.
Patrick Abitegeka, the area LC1 chairman, begged the residents to allow her to bury her child.
When approached, Moreen declined to speak to our reporter, but her estranged husband, Farouk Kaija, broke into tears as he requested Masindi district leaders support him in raising the remaining babies.
