HOIMA: The Hoima Resident City Commissioner Badru Mugabi has this morning {Friday} flagged off a three-day miss tourism tour in Hoima City.
Mugabi challenged the contestants to use their positions and influence to promote tourism in the sub region by marketing its tourism potentials and sites.
‘’Congratulations upon being part of the Miss Tourism Bunyoro team, you should not only focus on the beauty but also promote the tourism potentials of the sub region and the market for them,’’ Mugabi said.
This year’s Bunyoro Miss Tourism pageant will be on August 13th 2022 at HB Hotel in Hoima City.
The contestants for the pageant were recently unveiled at a party that was held at Magic club in Hoima city.
According to Rita Karungi, the Cluster Head Miss Tourism Bunyoro Pageant, the three-day tour will be done in the four districts of Kakumiro, Kibaale, Kagadi and Hoima City and District.
Karungi told ugreports.com that this year’s edition will have a reality television show and contestants will have to fight for the crown live on air.
‘’This year’s edition will send three contestants to represent Bunyoro at the National,’’ she said.
Karungi explains that this year’s beauty pageant will look at strengthening the women and seeing how they can add value to their personalities to become better. ‘’The public will also be part of the process of determining who takes the pageant home through their voting.’’
Contestants will have to present their beauty with a purpose project to the public and they will also take part in the head-to-head challenge as a way of making them think outside the box.
Karungi explained that the Miss Tourism Bunyoro Objectives are to empower a girl child through tourism Education and promotion, build their confidence, showcase their talents and creativity, and promote the tourism potentials in Bunyoro, attract investments in Bunyoro region and promote the Nyoro culture and heritage.
