MISSING KANUNGU MAN FOUND DEAD IN BUSH

He disappeared on Sunday, March 12.

KANUNGU: A man who went missing on Sunday last week in Kanungu District was yesterday found dead in the bush.

The Kigezi Region Police Spokesman, ASP Elly Maate, has identified the deceased as Ben Ayesiga, 30.

According to Maate, information about Ayesiga’s death was reported to police by his father, identified as Byangire Luke 62, a resident of Karama cell, Nyakatunguru ward, Kihihi town council.

Mr. Byangire said that his son disappeared on Sunday, March 12, and his body was discovered in a bush on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, with some signs of assault or scuffle reflected on his injured face.

“It’s unfortunate that the case of the deceased’s disappearance hadn’t been reported to police,” the regional police spokesperson asserted.

A team of police officlice station visited the scene, and the body was taken to Kihihi HC IV for postmortem.ers from Kihihi police station.

The police officer told journalists that a suspected murder case has been registered at Kihiihi police station under file number CRB 067/2023, as the inquiries also continue to establish the cause of death, motive, and probably who committed it.
