By UG Reports

KAMPALA: The Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake Butebi has challenged the jurisdiction of the committee on rules and privileges to hear his matter raised by the Badege Layibi Ojara Martin Mapenduzi where he is challenging his alleged misconduct against the deputy speaker of parliament Anita Annet Among.

The matter was raised by Badege Layibi MP Ojara Martin Mapenduzi following Zaake’s reaction through his twitter handle against the deputy speaker Anita Among who he accuses of making a mockery of his torture incidents.

While presenting his statement to the committee chaired by Bugweri county MP Abdu Katuntu, Zaake noted that he can’t defend himself in a committee which has no jurisdiction to handle his matter.

Zaake has also noted that he expected the deputy speaker to make a mockery of his plight because she has witnessed what he has gone through.

He further noted the case was already decided by parliament since his security details as a commissioner of parliament was withdrawn without any explanation.

Through his lawyers Eron Kiiza and Benjamin Katana, Zaake had requested for three days to make a written submission but the committee chairperson Abdu Katuntu has given them one day to prepare their submission to which they have complied to resolve the matter of the committee jurisdiction they have raised.
