MASINDI: In abid to extend financial services nearer to the people of Masindi, Buliisa and Kiryandongo districts, the Management of Microfinance Support Center (MSC) has revealed that soon they will open a branch in Masindi to serve the three districts in greater Masindi.
The revelation was made on Wednesday by Dr. Aliba Kiiza, the Board Chairperson for Microfinance Support Center during a stakeholders meeting aimed at discussing issues of acquiring soft loans that was held at the district headquarters.
Dr. Aliba expressed a concern over people who have been facing challenges of accessing their services due to long distances and bureaucracies that have always hampered easy access of their loans.
He has therefore,asked the district leadership to provide office space to enable them run operations smoothly.
Speaking in the same meeting, the Masindi Municipal Mayor, Ronald Businge Kyomuhendo said that most government programs come with good initiatives ,but end up collapsing due to stringent conditions attached to them.
The Deputy Executive Director for MSC, Ms Hellen Masika disclosed that their loans vary from categories and that small and medium enterprise can borrow even up-to abillion shillings.
In her closing remarks, the Secretary for Finance,Pamela Nyakato who represented the District Chairperson, commended MSC for extending financial services close to the people of Masindi, Kiryandongo and Buliisa districts.
