MUSEVENI TO ADDRESS THE NATION THIS WEEK ON EBOLA STATUS

KAMPALA: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to address the country tomorrow {Tuesday} on the current status of Ebola outbreak in the country.

The address which will be at 8.00pm will be live on all televisions and radios.

Amidst the increasing cases of Ebola virus in the country, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, the Minister for Health asked Ugandans to remain vigilant.

”Fellow Ugandans, let’s remain vigilant! if you have had contact with an Ebola case, do not run away, report to the nearest public health facility,” she asked.

On 20th September 2022, the ministry of health confirmed the first case of Ebola in the country.

According to Dr. Diana Atwine, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health the first confirmed case was a 24 year old male a resident of Ngabano village of Madudu Sub County in Mubende District presented with EVD symptoms and later succumbed

Isolation and treatment centres have been created in Mubende, Kassanda districts and other districts in the country.
