HOIMA: Muslim communities in Bunyoro and Tooro Sub Regions  have been challenged to embrace unity as a pillar of strengthening their faith and enhance development in their institutions.

Speaking to Muslim leaders who converged at Bwikya Islamic Institute on Tuesday, the Mufti of Uganda, Sheik Shaban Ramadan Mubajje challenged them to spread the gospel of unity to the rest of the Muslim communities in the region.

Mubajje revealed as a council they decided to return Sheik Musa Babanja to lead Muslims in Hoima district because he embraced unity and reconciliation of the worrying parties adding that Muslims should elect leaders who prioritize unity.

He appreciated the unity that is being exhibited in the region as they embark on constructing the regional offices at Bwikya hill.

Hajj Ramadan Mugalu, the secretary general for Uganda Muslim Supreme Council revealed Muslims have already lost a lot because of infighting adding that there are more benefits accruing to unity which Muslims should appreciate.

Meanwhile Yunus Mugabe who is the project coordinator for the construction of regional headquarters revealed they have already injected 436 million in to the construction of the headquarters which he says was raised from the Muslim community and their friends in the region and the country at large.


He challenges those who made pledges to fulfil in order to facilitate the completion of the construction works.
