MUSLIMS WANT GOV’T TO INTERVENE INTO SKYROCKETING PRICE OF COMMODITIES

MASINDI: The Muslim community in Masindi district has asked the government of Uganda to intervene into the skyrocketing price of commodities in the country.
The call was made by Sheik Yahaya Abdul the Chairperson Masindi Town Muslim Community on Monday while celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr at Masindi Town Mosque.
Yahaya said that the skyrocketing price of commodities has left many Ugandans helpless therefore the government should intervene.
He also stressed that the escalating commodity prices has left most Ugandans poor, noting that most of them cannot afford buying food or house necessities.
The leader also asked the government to intervene and fight kidnap and murder cases in Uganda. This followed the theft of a three days old baby from the mother at Masindi general hospital Maternity Ward on Sunday afternoon.
Yahaya also wants the government to intervene into the coffee agreement since agriculture is the backbone of Uganda.
He noted that investors shouldn’t exploit Ugandans since most of them depend on agriculture.
The leader asserted that there is a need for President Museveni to appoint Muslims in the top government offices since they need to be represented.
Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims around the globe to mark the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramzan.
