NEBBI TEACHER DISCOVERED DEAD FLOATING ON STREAM
The body was seen floating on water in Olili stream with many cut wounds on the mouth which was later identified to be that of teacher Achayo Gloria.

NEBBI: Police in Nebbi District have arrested and detained a 43-year-old driver in connection with a case of murder of a 38 year-old teacher at Joaquin Pedro nursery and primary school.
The Police Public Relations Officer for West Nile Region, Josephine Angucia has identified the suspect as Ogwaro Ricky, and the deceased as Achayo Gloria.
According to Angucia, during the evening of 23rd July this year while at home, someone called the deceased on phone, after which she left home to go to the trading centre, claiming to be going to buy medicine.
However reaching the morning hours of July 24 2023 at around 0700hours, a body was seen floating on water in Olili stream with many cut wounds on the mouth which was later identified to be that of teacher Achayo Gloria.
Angucia said that the area chairperson informed police who visited the scene of crime, examined and documented it, and opened case file of murder.
The incident happened in Pulaka village, Padolo parish, Erusi Sub County.
‘’We retrieved the body of the deceased and took it to Nebbi General Hospital mortuary where postmortem was done. Statements were recorded from relevant witnesses as inquiries continue under Nebbi CRB 492/2023,’’ she added.
The regional police mouthpiece said that Ogwaro Ricky, a driver of class CM motor vehicle, and resident of Alengo trading centre, Padolo parish, Erusi Subcounty in Nebbi district was arrested to aid in investigation.
