ONE KNOCKED DEAD, TWO HOSPITALIZED IN KIKUUBE

KIKUUBE: One person was this morning knocked dead, and two others were critically injured after being involved in a fatal accident along the Hoima-Kikuube road.

Praise Ochanda, a relative of the survivor explains that the incident happened at around 10 a.m., adding that the trio were heading to Kikuube district. “The taxi that hit them was also heading in the same direction. I suspect they were either hit by the side mirror or the guard,” he told ugreports.com.

Ochanda has identified the deceased as Patrick Agenonga, a resident of Buliisa district. “The other two are nursing wounds at Kikuube health centre IV,” he asserted. He also told ugreports.com that after the incident, the taxi driver drove off.

When contacted for a comment, ASP Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, said he was yet to get the details concerning the accident. “I haven’t got any information about the accident. I will get back to you shortly,” he said.

Over 20 students of Hoima School of Nursing and Midwifery, including two tutors, were critically injured after being involved in an accident on the same road as they were returning from a field practice in Kyangwali sub county in Kikuube district. They were traveling on their school bus, registration number UAY 170H, when they got involved in the accident.
