OVER 20 CELLS TO BE ELECTRIFIED IN MASINDI

MASINDI: Over twenty cells in the two divisions of Kigulya and Karujubu in Masindi Municipality Masindi district are going to be electrified.

This was revealed on Tuesday afternoon during the verification meeting held at education hall in Masindi town involving the area chairpersons and councilors of the cells without electricity.

Speaking during the meeting, Ronald Businge Kyomuhendo the Masindi Municipal Mayor said that the survey was done and they have already registered the cells that will be electrified in the first phase.

”The surveyors have already spotted the areas where poles will be planted, and cells to benefit in the first phase,” he asserted.

Kyomuhendo further noted that the first phase will kick off by April this year while as the second phase will be immediately after the first one.

The areas that will benefit in the first phase include Kabarwana, Kyema, Kiryanga, Kikwanana, Kabalye and others.

The politician also noted that the electrification of these cells will improve the livelihood of the community thus development.

Richard Tabaro the deputy resident district commissioner Masindi asked residents to utilize the development to change their livelihood.

”Let’s use the development for the well-being of our lives, we can start up small businesses, which use electricity,” he noted.
