BULIISA: Leaders in Kihungya Sub County Buliisa District in Partnership with National Forest Authority Masindi have distributed 8,850 tree seedlings to Kihungya sub county residents.

Kenneth Tumusiime the Kihungya sub county LC3 Chairperson explains that, due to the several lobbying and engagements they had with the NFA Management, they had to hear their cries.

He says the tree seedlings have been distributed at the right time and in time since it is necessary to recover the green vegetation mostly in the oil rich Buliisa district.

The tree species that have been distributed includes Musizi, Agroveliya trees [Mbeni], Afzelia Africana [Mahogany] and Umbrella tree seedlings, and the distribution function has been at Kihungya sub county headquarters.

Tumusiime adds that, among the beneficiaries includes over 121 people, institutions like schools, churches, and the faith of unity among others saying the distribution have at least covered all the parishes in the sub county.

The leader thanked the National Forest Authority NFA management for supporting them saying this has helped some people who can`t afford to buy tree seedlings.


Addressing the beneficiaries, he requested them to ensure that they plant the trees especially during this rainy season.
