PARENTS ASKED TO EDUCATE THEIR CHILDREN

BUKEDEA: Parents and care takers in Bukedea district have been asked to educate their children.

Vicent Okwi, the NRM sub county chairperson who doubles as a chief guest said, the only gift a parent can avail of is education.

“Buying a new dress for a child that to put on during Christmas is not a gift but lets educate our children”, said Mr. Okwi.

However, Adodoi is one of the villages in bukedea sub county without any government school for both primary and secondary schools.

A total of 35 top class pupils in Lenor parents and nursery primary school in Adodoi village, Adodoi parish in Bukedea sub county in bukedea district have today 25th, november 2022 graduated to join primary one education in Bukedea district.

The graduation ceremony is officiated by the bukedea sub county NRM chairperson Vicent Okwi.

Lenor parents nursery and primary school is a private entity initiated in the year 2019 and celebrates its second graduation for top class pupils and second sitting for the primary leaving examination.

In the first graduation, a total of nineteen pupils graduated.
Simon Okiror the school director said in the second graduation, the school has registered a positive gradual change on the number of pupils graduating.

“At our first graduation we had 19 pupils and this year we have 35 pupils graduating”, said Okiror.

Ms Dinah Apio, the deputy head teacher says currently the school has an enrollment of 276.

“We faced a challenge during lockdown whereby our dear parents failed to pay school fees and they decided to transfer their children, but we thank God our enrollment is still promising”, said Ms Apio.

David Oduwan, the head teacher nursery section says the nursery education trains pupils how to read, write and how to dance among others before joining to the upper primary level of education which is primary one class.

“When a child is trained on how to read and write in lower classes, the upper primary becomes easy for that child”, said mr.oduwan.

Retired Captain Ogera Otim, one of the invited guests emphasized the value of education.

He said Teso used to be the ring leader in terms of education.

“Education is a key to everything, a family without educated children suffers, my appeal to the community, lets value education.
