PATIENT KILLED AFTER ESCAPING FROM ARUA HOSPITAL
Angucia said it's not yet established whether the deceased moved out of the hospital bed on a bad mission or due to mental problems as a result of the sickness.

ARUA: Police in Arua City are investigating an incident of murder where unknown people murdered a patient who had escaped from Arua Regional Referral Hospital.
The West Nile Region Police Spokesperson, Josephine Angucia, explained that the deceased, identified as Aluma Akbar 33, was brought to the above hospital from Yumbe district as a patient and was then admitted on June 22, 2023, in the TB Ward.
The deceased was a resident of Charanga Parish, Yumbe Town Council, and Yumbe District.
‘’He escaped from the Arua regional referral hospital in the night of June 26 at an unknown time and moved towards Mvara, where he was beaten to death by unknown persons,’’ she said.
Angucia said it’s not yet established whether the deceased moved out of the hospital bed on a bad mission or due to mental problems as a result of the sickness.
The regional police mouthpiece asserted that they visited the crime scene, conveyed the body to the same hospital, and recovered exhibits of clubs at the scene, which they exhibited, adding that no arrest has been made yet but investigations continue under Arua Central Business Division CRB 517/2023.
