PHOTOS: JOURNALIST SHOT DEAD IN MASINDI

MASINDI: Police in Masindi District are investigating circumstances under which a journalist attached to Kings Broadcasting Services {Kings FM 93.6} was shot and killed in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
Aseera was a news anchor at the station, was shot in the chest at around 12am by a private security guard at a soda depot in Masindi town.

After the incident, Aseera died moments after being rushed to Masindi General Hospital.
According to Rashida Tooti, an eyewitness at the hospital, the deceased was dumped near the children’s ward by unknown people at around 1am, and they suspected him to be a thief.
‘’He was dumped near the children’s ward, and I suspected him to be a thief, but I was shocked this morning to hear that he works with Kings FM,’’ she said.


Later, Journalists stormed the Coca Cola depot Masindi demanding for the closure of the branch.


IP Peter Mukasa the CLO Masindi aasured the journalists that the Coca Cola depot branch Masindi would not operate until further notice. Immediately the journalists vacated the area.
The body of Aseera was transported to Pakanyi Sub County in Masindi district and it will be laid to rest on Friday this week.
