POISON KILLS TWO, THREE RESCUED IN BUKEDEA

BUKEDEA:  Three family members in Kasoka Omesura parish in Bukedea Sub County in Bukedea district have survived death and the other two died on spot after eating food suspected to have been poisoned by unidentified persons.

The deceased have been identified as Geresemu Opio 6 years, a primary one pupil of Bukedea township primary school and younger brother Dan Ochom 3 years.

The survivors include Rebeca Ibukunyang the mother together with her two children, Grace Atim, Christopher Emokori after they were taken to anti-venom herbalist.

According to reliable sources, the cause of poisoning is land related factors.

Rebeca Ibukunyang, the mother of children’s said, it was in the afternoon hours when an old man only identified as Obaye who is at large gave them greens (Eboo) to prepare for super but upon eating super all of them started feeling stomach paining, lost sense, weight till the two died on spot.

“We survived because of God’s mercy, the same old man who gave us greens is the one who even gave us anti-poison,” Ibukunyang told ugreports.

Martin Outeke, the area councilor Kasoka condemned the acts of poisoning, he said it’s the first of its kind to happen in their area.

“When we went for the postmortem, it detailed that the family was poisoned”, said Outeke.

Outeke also added that the sub county authority together with police is taking up the matter seriously to ensure that the suspects who are on the run to book.

Ediga Akangkwasha, the Bukedea District Police Commander, said a police intelligence team is already deployed to investigate the matter.
