HOIMA: Police in Hoima is investigating circumstance under which their own gunned down two people in Kabale Sub county Kigorobya County Hoima district.

According to ASP Julius Allan Hakiza the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, the incident happened on Friday morning.

The police mouthpiece told ugreports that they reported a case of land wrangle at their area police station, and they had to dispatch police to intervene into the matter.

Hakiza explained that the deceased identified as James Rwothmbe 55 who is the suspect wanted to sell his mother’s land, he got a panga and wanted to attack the police officers who had intervened into the matter.

”In the process, the police officer charged Rwothmbe and he passed on while being evacuated to Kabale H/CIV for treatment while the canister hit the 2year old baby and died on spot,” he told our reporter.

James Onen an eyewitness told ugreports that the brother of the deceased stopped him from selling their family land but he insisted.

”They had a misunderstanding last night over land, and this morning the matter was reported to police, when police intervened, he wanted to revenge thus lost his life,” he further explained.
