POLICE RECOVER 8 STOLEN CARS, ARREST 5 IN CRACKDOWN ON NOTORIOUS CITY GANGS

KAMPALA: The Police Flying Squad Command in Kampala has arrested five suspects and recovered eight stolen cars in an operation against theft of motor vehicles.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy spokesperson confirmed the development in a police statement issued Thursday, March 24, 2022.

Owoyesgyire said of the eight vehicles recovered, four have been claimed by the owners, and the other four are currently parked at CID headquarters, Kibuli, for safe custody.

“The four vehicles parked at CID Kibuli are numberless and the Police are working with other agencies to establish owners and then hand them over, said Owoyesigyire.

During investigations, we have established that the recovered vehicles were stolen from Kampala Metropolitan Area and later driven by criminals to public parking in Lugala, Kosovo, Nakulabye, and Nakawuka,“ he added.
