POLITICIANS WARNED TO DISTANCE FROM PDM PROGRAM

By George Emuron

BUKEDEA: The state minister for energy and mineral development Hon. Sidronius Okaasai Opolot who doubles as Member of Parliament for Kumi County has warned the politicians in Bukedea district to distance themselves and their selfish interest in the parish development model.

The parish development model is the current program introduced by the government directly to benefit the beneficiary right from the parish and managed by the parish chiefs.

Okaasai pronounced this warning yesterday during the launch of the parish development model program held at the district headquarters in Bukedea district.

He says there are politicians who have selfish interest and feelings to be part of the beneficiaries on the program.

The politician said the program is targeted to benefit the local people down the parish, not politicians.

“Politicians are government civil servants and they earn government salaries, your role is to supervise the program but not be part of the beneficiaries,” Okaasai said.
