KAMPALA: The president of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will tomorrow address the Nation barely a week after his previous address.
The development was confirmed on Tuesday by the State House Press Secretary Lindah Nabusayi Wamboka.
According to Wamboka’s release, Museveni will address the Nation on Wednesday July 27th 2022 at 8Pm and his address will broadcast live on all radios and televisions.
“President Kaguta Museveni will address the Nation tomorrow July 27, 2022 at 8pm, from Nakasero State Lodge on Issues of National Importance the address will be broadcast live from all TVs and Radios” she posted.
Although the President is set to address Ugandans, the countrymen and women lost hope during his last address when it was made clear that the Ugandan government will not intervene amid an outcry over the rising cost of living.
President Yoweri Museveni, in a televised state address on Sunday night, said government subsidies or removing import taxes would collapse the economy.
The rising prices of goods have been occasioned by surges in the cost of petroleum products and other imports amid global supply chain constraints following the war in Ukraine.
Mr Museveni advised the citizens to make do with the imported items the country can afford, and substitute expensive wheat with locally available food such as cassava, bananas, millet, and maize.
