Radio Maria Uganda is a religious-based broadcaster, this year, decided to hold a Villa Marathon campaign, dubbed ‘’Run for Mother Mary, Run for Radio Maria,” aimed at mobilizing 63 million shillings for the construction of the first phase studios of Radio Maria.

In Kagadi Vicariate, the marathon will be conducted on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kagadi Town Council, Kagadi District, and the chief runner will be the Executive Director of Youths Alive Uganda and the chief walker will be Dr. Bindeba Sylvester.

Launching marathon week activities recently during morning mass, James Byarugaba, the executive director of Youths Alive Uganda, challenged Christians to always support church activities if they are to get blessings from God.

Byarugaba supported marathon week activities by buying running kits worth one million shillings.

Presiding over the mass, Msgr. Peter Kaberenge challenged Christians to fully use their inborn talents to serve the Lord if they are to get blessings from God.

He further asked Christians to always have a good heart, asserting that God does not make wonders and miracles to people based on their beauty, assets, or other attributes but on their hearts.

Speaking shortly after the service, Eva Mulora, from African Rural University (ARU) and chief mobilizer for the Kagadi Vicariate Running Center, disclosed that a number of activities are to be done during this marathon week, all of which aim at soliciting support.

Mulora calls upon all Christians and all well-wishers to support and participate in this noble cause by buying a corporate running kit worth 30,000 shillings for VIPs or an ordinary kit worth Shs 20,000, or else a cape for Shs 10,000.
