KANUNGU: Police in Kanungu District on Wednesday arrested Mr. Nelson Twinamatsiko 51, the station manager for Kanungu FM on allegations of assaulting and injuring a fellow female staff member.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate said they received a complaint from the victim identified as Anita Tumuramye 24, who was battered by Twinamatsiko, both residents of Katate cell in Kanungu town council.
According to the police spokesperson, the incident happened last Thursday, January 26th at around 6pm at the station.
Maate asserted that Ms Tumuramye was reportedly assaulted by the manager Twinamatsiko when she went to demand for her 40,000 shillings commission from him.
The police officer said that upon receiving the complaint, police officers visited the station and arrested the suspect and also took statements from staff.
