MASINDI: The victims of last week’s fire that burnt over five houses to ashes in Kitengule village Kiruli subcounty Buruli Constituency in Masindi District have Thursday received relief items including posho and beans.
The relief items were donated by Trusted Treasuries Team International Ministries, a community based organization.
80 kilograms of maize flour each packed in 5 kilogram bags and 50 kilograms of beans benefited over 30 people.
While delivering the relief items, Deacon Nelson Bagonza of Life Given Church and Administrator of the organization said after the incident, they convened a meeting with members and contributed towards buying the relief items for the victims.
”After the incident last week, we convened the meeting with the members and contributed towards the procurement of the relief items,” he asserted.
Pastor Ronald Byakagaba the Organization Programs Manager said that since the establishment of the organization two years back, they officially started implementing its vision by donating to the needy.
”The organization has officially started implementing its vision Thursday, and we call upon the well-wishers to join us and support people who have challenges in the community,” Byakagaba noted.
Gilbert Angala the area chairperson hailed the organization for the support and also challenged the government to intervene noting that the victims don’t have shelters.
”Most of them have resorted to renting within the center of which they don’t have money and others can’t afford buying food,” Angala noted.
The beneficiaries hailed the organization and asked for more from other well-wishers.
Trusted Treasuries Team International Ministries was founded by church members with the aim of helping vulnerable people.
