RESIDENTS DISCOVER DECOMPOSING BODY

MASINDI: A decomposing body of a man has been Thurdsay discovered in Kitamanya cell, Kigulya division in Masindi district.

The deceased has been identified as Robert Kyaligonza, 52 and resident of Katama cell in Masindi central division who went missing from his home.

Francis Biryetega, the chairperson of Katama LC1 told ugreports that Kyaligonza disappeared from home three weeks ago after developing a mental problem prompting his relatives and the residents to mount a hunt for him.

”He disappeared from home three weeks ago after developing a mental problem, and we discovered his decomposing body in the bush,” he asserted.

Biryetega added that the body was seen yesterday evening by the residents in Kitamamya prompting the area LC1 chairperson to inform him and the police that retrieved it from the scene and later handed it over to the relatives for burial which took place in Katama today.

ASP Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson confirmed the reports when contacted saying the body had been taken to Masindi hospital for postmortem but he had not got the postmortem report.
