KASESE: The reliable sources in the Obusinga Bwa-Rwenzururu {Rwenzururu kingdom} have revealed that the kingdom is seeking for six billion shillings for the kingdom’s activities.
Recently, Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema Ngoma selected committee members who will spearhead various activities ahead of his return to the Kingdom.
The chairperson organizing committee, Dr. Nathaniel Mumbere Walemba, disclosed that Rt. Hon. Costa Bwambale appointed as the Vice Chairperson and Clarence Bwambale Mumbahya the General Secretary, while Rev. Eng. Gabriel Fataki was selected as the Treasurer of the committee.
Dr. Walembe was on Tuesday addressing the committee members at the Rwenzori International University board room in Kasese town.
He stated that the Omusinga also appointed the Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament, Ferigo Kambale, since almost all activities will take place in his political area, and the Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament, Florance Kabugho, since she crosses the entire district.
Dr. Walemba further said that the 60-member committee comprises representatives from Kasese, Bundibugyo, Ntoroko, Kabarole, and Bunyangabo districts.
Others are from Mubende and Kampala districts; however, he said they are not among the 60 members.
Asked why they have selected all districts that make up the Rwenzori sub-region, Dr. Walemba revealed that they want the event to be unified regardless of tribe, region, religion, and politics, among others, as well as including every region in planning.
Dr. Walemba clearly stated that the selected committee is answerable to the Cabinet of the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu, headed by the Prime Minister, Joseph Kule Muranga Kighoma.
The committee that is organizing the homecoming of the Omusinga is mobilizing all Rwenzururu subjects in the Rwenzori region and beyond to solicit funds to purchase the Springs International Hotel, which will be Obusinga property, and to organize the Coronation Anniversary for this year.
The chairperson of the 60-member committee said that the said amount of money would cater for the homecoming of the Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema Ngoma, the purchase of the Springs International Hotel that has been offered to OBR by its management to buy, and to facilitate the Coronation Anniversary ceremony for this year.
