AMOLATOR: A senior one student of Aputi senior secondary school in Amolatar District has committed suicide after her father subjected her to strokes of the cane.
The body of Miriam Anyango, 17 was found dangling on a tree near their home in Ayia-peiye, Awinyi_pany Parish, Aputi Sub County, Amolatar District.
Civirino Odongo area chairperson said the deceased on Sunday went to get the money that one of her friends called Nancy owed her and returned at around 9pm but her father Apollo Orec alias Abutu peanino canned her several strokes accusing her of engaging in a love affair.
Francis Olero the defense secretary of Ayia-peiye said Orec declined to heed to their plea to pardon his daughter.
Olero added that Orec threatened the girl’s mother and went and picked the deceased’s chicken that she was keeping with her grandmother, slaughtered and ate it.
By press time the matter had been reported to police of Aceng police out post.
