NAIROBI: Prof Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile, Governor of the Bank of Uganda, has died at the age of 72.
The long-reigning Bank of Uganda Governor was in and out of medical centres for the last 10 years.
He was rushed to Nakasero hospital in critical condition in the first week of January.
Ug Reports has learnt that his death occurred at around 5:30 am.
An economist who designed and implemented the economic reform program that restored Uganda from the economic crisis of the 1980s to great economic performance when he served as the Secretary to the Treasury of Uganda then.
