SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS WARNED TO BE VIGILANT, PROTECT SCHOOL PROPERTIES

RUBANDA: Authorities in Rubanda district have warned the school administrators to be vigilant in ensuring safety of school properties during this holiday, in order to avoid vandalization and cases of stealing the school properties.
The call was made on Monday at the district headquarters during the handover of 145 pre-painted iron sheets, 19 Ridges and 28 kilograms of nails to Hamurwa Primary School County that received 80 iron sheets and Rukore Two primary school from Muko Sub County that received 65 iron sheets.
The district recently donated 1,232 pre-painted iron sheets, to other nine primary schools that were procured at a tune of 100 million shillings which was part of additional funding from central government.
The Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson Steven Ampeire Kasyaba Kasyaba said that during this economic crisis people are using all means to survive through engaging in theft, therefore school administrators including head teachers and school management committees should be conscious in protecting school properties during this holiday.
Rubanda district Secretary for Education and Health expressed the need for the district Education department to organize an induction meeting to the leaders of school management committees, Parents Teachers Association (PTA) leaders and their Head teachers in order to help them understand their respective roles, as well as help proper operationalization of the schools.
