SCHOOL DIRECTORS CHALLENGED TO BE LENIENT WITH PARENTS OVER SCHOOL FEES

HOIMA: School owners and head teachers of schools in hoima have been requested to be lenient with parents on issues of school fees to restraint the increasing school drop outs.
While in a planning meeting of beginning of term two with all head teachers of primary and secondary schools in Hoima city held at Kitara secondary school organized by the education department in partnership with Engonzi logistics organization on Wednesday.
Johnson Baigana the principal education officer of Hoima city said that the aim of meeting all headteachers of primary and secondary schools was to give them plans and programs of the second term.
Baigana cautioned the heads of school to address the issues of hygiene in their schools and requested school owners and head teachers to be lenient with parents on issues of school fees thus to curb increasing school drop outs due to failure to pay school fees adding that covid19 affected so much parents.
He explained that teachers should make sure they embrace the bridged curriculum which ministry of education introduced due to the effects of covid 19 because many children have been promoted to new classes and this curriculum will help the learn what they missed.
In the same meeting, Patrick Zahurwa the head teacher kitara secondary school appreciated the bridged curriculum but requested that there be continuous training of teachers regarding the new curriculum.
Ramze Trojus Banura the executive director of Engozi Logistics organization revealed that they have decided to partner with hoima city education department because one of their key roles is to support education and make sure that they inject in funds for a better education.
The Resident City Commissioner Hoima Badru Mugabi has cautioned the headteachers on service delivery because at the end of the day what the government wants is good grades because it makes sure all the necessary requirements needed at school is provided.
