MASAKA: Unknown people suspected to be members of the notorious Bijjambiya gang have threatened to cause havoc in the greater Masaka region again.

This is after a letter containing a threatening message was dropped in the house of Nakachwa Immaculate, a resident of Kijjabwemi B cell, Kimaanya ward, Kabonera division, Masaka city over the weekend.

The matter has since been reported to Kimaanya-Kabonera Division police headquarters by

Frank Ssemabinga, the chairperson Kijjabwemi “B” LC1 under SD.REF:13/25/09/2022.

The police leadership has accordingly instructed the police administration in the Masaka region to be on the alert in order to deal with the impending insecurity in the region.

The Bijjambiya gang last year struck the region that includes Masaka city, Masaka and Lwengo districts among other areas where they hacked several to death and left others nursing severe injuries.

Police ended the criminality after arresting several suspects including two Members of Parliament in connection with the attacks.

The suspects are still battling cases of murder, attempted murder and terrorism in court.
