GULU: Her Excellency, Maria Hkansson, the Swedish Ambassador to Uganda, paid a courtesy call on Gulu University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Openjuru George Ladaah and members of top management.
The Vice-Chancellor of Gulu University thanked the Swedish International Development Cooperation (SIDA) for having supported 18 PhDs and 32 Masters for both administrative and academic staff of Gulu University, where the partnership was through Makerere University.
“This has greatly improved our staff development, and we are grateful for the capacity development of our workforce.” Openjuru observed
The Vice-Chancellor also briefed the Ambassador on the agricultural training orientation of Gulu University in most faculties.
The Ambassador thanked Gulu University for the warm welcome and promised to have further engagement towards possible cooperation.
The meeting held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, was graced by members of top management that included the University Bursar, Nyeko John, the Academic Registrar, Dr. Jerry Bagaya, Obalim Christopher, the Deputy University Secretary, Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, currently acting as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs, Dr. Okello Collins, Cakuru Christine, the Principal Human Resource Officer, and Lilian Tebere, the Principal Planning Officer.
