RUBANDA: Police in Rubanda district are investigating circumstances under which two people were killed in unclear circumstances.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate told journalists that the deceased identified as Mr. Mujuni Werreni was found murdered by an unknown people on the way to his home.
Maate added that the deceased was discovered Wednesday morning at around 07:00am by his neighbor who made an announcement that attracted other residents including his wife identified as Christine Kenema.
The police mouthpiece revealed that as the residents became many, and knowing how the couple have always been having domestic problems, they suspected his wife Kenema to have master minded his death, hence lynched her to death.
”After getting the information, we visited the scene of the crime, a post-mortem was done at the scene and the two bodies were allowed to be buried while Inquiries continue,” he said.
Maate added the case of double murder was registered at Rubanda Central Police station under reference number CRB 475/2022.
