MITYANA: Police in Mityana district are holding two people in connection with aggravated trafficking in children.
The Wamala Region Police Spokesperson, ASP Kawala Racheal, identified the suspects as Mujabi Sepuya Vincent, 43, the school director as well as a teacher, and Nankanja Grace, 35, the matron as well as the wife of the director.
The suspects were arrested in an intelligence-led operation.
‘’We received information that there was a person trafficking children from Kampala in disguise and that he would enroll them in his school called Mujabi Memorial Primary School located at Bugabo cell, Kabuwambo parish, Tamu division in Mityana district,’’ she said.
Kawala asserted that the joint security team, comprised of the Mityana district police commander and the Mityana district internal security officer, among others, immediately responded to the scene.
‘’At the scene, six children, three males and three females, were found at the alleged school premises and have been rescued,’’ she said.

‘’These are currently at mityana police reception center awaiting hand over to their relatives,’’ Kawala said.
According to Kawala, preliminary findings indicate the alleged school has never been formally registered with the ministry of education and sports and there was no learning activity taking place in the poor state structures which are entirely the homestead of the suspects.
However it has been established that instead of class work the victims were subjected to brick laying and looking after the pigs of suspects.
Kawala said that parents to the victims have never had a chance to visit the said school premises and are charged school fees ranging from 100,000 to 150,000 shillings depending on the classes.
The one Mujabi solely runs all the affairs of the alleged school together with his wife
It has been established that Mujabi Sepuya Vincent is not a teacher by profession but a technician who repairs TV’s, AC`s, radios and other electronic items.
