ARUA: Police in Arua police have opened investigations against the head teacher of Manibe secondary school Ajidiru Hoglasfor denying a student to sit for senior four exams.

Ayikobua Joseph who had registered to sit for this year’s senior four exams was stopped from sitting on allegations of school fees defaulting.

According to the West Nile Region Police Spokesperson Josephine Angucia, they discovered that the student was a true student of Manibe secondary school with registration number U2180/012 UCE 2022 and was duly to sit for exams at Manibe public secondary school but was not allowed to sit.

The head teacher Ajidiru Hoglas on 17th at around 7am confiscated the student identity card of Joseph and instructed him to bring the parents which the student did but it didn’t yield any fruit.

The head teacher Ajidiru Hoglas insisted that the school fees should be paid to zero before he is allowed to enter for examinations.

Ayikobua Joseph had registered to sit for English, mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, history, CRE, IPS and lugbarati.


The institution choices Joseph had filled were Vurra SS, Arua SS, Koboko Town College and Mvara SS.

Ayivu east police post has forwarded the file to the regional police offices for further inquiries.

Police spokesperson urges the high authorities to take action against such so that they reduce the number of school dropouts as a result of giving up on education.

On 13th October, during the media brief at Uganda media centre in Kampala, Dan N Odongo the Uneb executive and accounting officer requested the school administrators to avoid the act of pulling candidates out of examinations due to school fees.

He said the board will work with schools to put in place measures to assist them recover their fees even after examinations have been done by defaulting candidates.

  1. Let police help parents because even if you do exams you will pay because you need your results from that school where you were studying
