UGANDANS ADVISED TO DEVELOP SAVING CULTURE

NTUNGAMO: The Ntungamo Municipality Deputy Mayor Mrs Loy Tumwesigye has advised Ugandans to develop the saving culture, this was sounded during the Ntungamo Municipal Council constituency produce dealers Emyooga SACCO while presenting their second annual general meeting held at Ntungamo Municipal Grounds as the guest of Honour.

She said this is the only way to eradicate poverty in the district. On the same note, Tumwesigye also called upon women to work hard without depending on their husbands.

The politician urged men to work without planning on women’s pocket and warned defaulters as they will let their SACCO hit the target.

The Chairperson Ntungamo Municipal council constituency Produce Dealers Emyooga SACCO Mr Natamba Edward urged members to always attend meetings as they plan for the SACCO.

Natamba urged members for the cooperation and team work saying their SACCO is among some SACCOs from the country that are going to benefit from the additional 20M as they performed better.

He appreciated the government for the Emyooga initiative that has uplifted the status of Ugandans especially local citizens.

He highlighted some key challenges like low membership recruitment due to negative mind-set towards government programs, poor saving culture among members and SACCO members who have become defaulters.

Mrs Musiimenta Scovia from Nyakakyemba stone query association and a supervisory committee member urged members who never joined the SACCOs to think twice and join when it’s early.
