MASINDI: A yet to be identified man in his late 20’s has this afternoon drowned in a stream in Nyangahya Division, Masindi Municipality. The stream is located a few meters away from Masindi town along the street that stretches from Masindi Central Market to Nyangahya trading center.
According to the eyewitness, the deceased had a piece of soap, trousers, and a bottle of alcohol beside him, thus suspecting him of being drunk. Some claimed that the deceased went to take a bath in the stream, lost control, and collapsed in the water.
By press time, the deceased had not been identified nor his relatives. However, his close associates said he was a renown drunkard in Masindi town who had nicknamed himself Mr. Sanitizer.
Police arrived on the scene but were not ready to ascertain the details pertaining to the death of Mr. Sanitizer. By the time we filed this, the lifeless body of Mr. Sanitizer was lying at the Masindi district general hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
