MASINDI: Police in Masindi district are investigating circumstances under which assailants attacked a man who later died.
The Albertine Region Police Spokesperson Julius Allan Hakiza has identified the deceased as John Byaruhanga, a resident of Kisonde village in Bikonzi Sub County Bujenje County Masindi district.
According to Hakiza, the deceased was attacked by six men on 26th December 2022 when he was coming from Isagara village together with his wife.
He adds after attacking him, they took different directions and Byaruhanga was rescued by Christopher Mukidi, a resident of the area.
Christopher Mukidi later reported the matter to the Bujenje Police Post.
Hakiza told our reporter that Byaruhanga was evacuated to Masindi General Hospital were he was admitted but later transferred to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital were he was announced dead on the evening of 27th December 2022.
The regional police mouthpiece asserted that the case of murder has been registered at Bujenje Police Post and they have commenced investigations into the matter.
