Nabanja added that 100 UPDF soldiers who participated in the fight against locust invasion have been identified and will be deployed to support the fight against the African army worm.
However, Santa Alum the Oyam district MP asked government to support people who planted their crops early but were destroyed by the pests.
The state minister for agriculture Bright Kanyontore Rwamirama said they will distribute spry pumps in Oyam district but added that government lacks a law to guide on compensation of losses incurred by farmers.
