FORTPORTAL: First half substitute Mark Nsubuga scored the only needed goal as Tooro United beat Vipers SC 1-0 at Buhinga stadium in Fort Portal on Friday 11th March 2022.

Nsubuga who replaced the injured Ronald Magwali in the first half, put Ibrahim Kiirya’s lead in the 79th minute off Mohammed Senoga’s assist.

Vipers forward Milton Kalisa came close to putting the visitors in an early lead in the 13th minute but was denied by goalkeeper Simon Mbuya thus keeping the score line 0-0.

Isaac Mpanga had his shoot going wide for the home side.

Five minutes to the end of the first stanza, Yunus Sentamu crossed well to Ceazor Manzoki who failed to put the ball at the back of the net.

Another Vipers chance fell to Bright Anukani who shot it very wide.


The Venoms kept pressing for an opener but experienced defender Musa Docca and his boys in defence were solid at the back.

Docca was voted as the man of the match.

Tooro United remain unbeaten at home in the second round.

This was Ibrahim Kiirya’s side third win of the season, moved to 12 points from 20 games but remain bottom of the table.

Vipers SC suffered their third loss, remain top of the log with 43 points, three above second placed KCCA FC who visit the struggling SC Villa on Sunday 12th March.

Vipers SC will be at home hosting another relegation threatened side Busoga United on Wednesday 16th in their next fixture.

Tooro United will visit BUL FC on Friday 18th March.
