VENDORS TO VACATE THE LAND OF FORMER BULIISA MP

BULIISA: Biiso market vendors in Biiso town council Buliisa District are to shift back to the newly constructed Biiso Modern Market on Friday this week.

Hon. Peter Oketch the Mayor Biiso Town Council disclosed to ugreports Wednesday afternoon.  ”We shall shift the vendors this Friday, and the market will be commissioned soon,” he said.

The politician applauded the Former Member of Parliament for Buliisa County Stephen Birahwa Mukitale offering the land to the vendors to create space for the construction of the modern market.

”We didn’t have the land where to shift the vendors, fortunately the former member of parliament offered to pave the way for the construction of the modern market,” he asserted.

Last week, the former Member of Parliament for Buliisa County Stephen Birahwa Mukitale raised a complaint saying he wants vendors to vacate his land since he wanted to develop it.

Birahwa noted that he had only offered his land for four months but its now fifteen months.

Biiso Modern Market has taken over 15 month under construction by Techno three Uganda limited that was contracted early last year 2021 is now completely waiting for vendors to start in their operation.

Techno three Uganda Limited was contracted by the ministry of lands, housing, and urban development with support from the World Bank.

Biiso Modern Market is expected to accommodate over 500 vendors.
